WHAT TO EXPECT

The quick treatment has very minimal downtime — you can continue your regular activities right away. Your results are instantaneous, but it will take up to 4 weeks to see full results. There may be some temporary bruising and swelling, but that is totally normal and could last up to a week. We recommend to avoid laying down and taking a rest day from the gym. To maximize smoothing and plumping we recommend partnering your treatment with a hyaluronic based serum.

Does it hurt?
Our Health Canada approved Dermal Fillers are formulated with an incorporated anesthetic. Therefore, during the initial injection the anesthesia is instantaneously in effect. Although this treatment can be tolerated without additional topical anesthetic, some clients are comforted with the added support. Ice may also be used post treatment for additional comfort.
When will I notice results?
The results are instant! There may be slight swelling from the initial injection and it will take 2 – 6 weeks for the filler to settle and soften into place to see the full results.
What are the most common side effects?
All our fillers are safe and Health Canada approved. Some common side effects include: soreness, sensitivity, redness, itchiness, swelling, and slight bruising in the treated area. These side effects are normal and will subside in a few days. Side effects such as risk of bleeding and bruising may be enhanced if you are taking substances such as Aspirin® (acetylsalicylic acid), Advil®, Motrin® (ibuprofen), herbal supplements such as fish oils and omegas, prescription blood thinners, and green tea or alcohol.
Where does it go in my body?
Dermal Fillers are comprised of a gel form of Hyaluronic acid; which is naturally produced sugar molecule in our bodies. This gel ads structure in areas that have lost volume. When the filler is injected into the treatment site is acts as an implant; restoring volume and shape. For this reason, fillers are natural metabolized by our lymphatic system and will go through the body naturally. Since fillers are naturally metabolized, if you stop having your treatments you will return to where you have started from.
Who can get this treatment?
It is important for you to disclose and share your complete medical history with you service provider which includes supplements, prescribed medication and lifestyle to ensure you are a candidate for dermal fillers. Patients who are breastfeeding, pregnant, are allergic to hyaluronic acid products and certain medications cannot undergo this treatment. If you have undergone dental work 2 weeks prior to your treatment and have a scheduled dental appointment 1 month after your dermal filler appointment, it is best to reschedule. If you have flu-like symptoms or have a scheduled vaccination (including COVID-19 vaccine) 2 weeks prior or post from your scheduled appointment, it is best to reschedule.
